Ice-breaker reception – Sunday August 17th from 16:30 to 20:00
Main Hall of building A, ground floor
Join us for the opening ceremony in the form of a cocktail reception in the main lobby of building A (1100 Notre Dame West, ground floor of the main building). Dinner and drinks will be served, and a cash bar will be available. The organizers will take the time to briefly welcome participants to the 23rd Canadian Rock Mechanics Symposium and acknowledge major sponsors.

Young Professionals (YP) reception, all participants welcome!
Sunday August 17th from 20:00 to midnight, Pub 100 génies, building B, ground floor
A committee of YP volunteers involved with CARMA invite you to join them for a fun night of Kahoot (trivia) games and friendly networking. All participants are welcome! This event is meant to connect YP members with the more seasoned crowd. We booked the entire ÉTS pub (100 génies) for this event. There will be a paying bar onsite.

Special evening reception at the TIME Groupe
Monday, August 18th, 2025. Terrace opens at 16:30, main doors open at 18:00
RockEng 2025 organizing committee invite you to a special evening reception at the TIME Groupe located a very short walking distance from ÉTS. The covered terrace will open at 16:30 with a cash bar for casual networking. The main doors will open at 18:00. The reception will feature a sample of local Montreal cuisine, a live circus spectacle, a mineral exhibit from McGill’s Redpath Museum, and live music from DISRTIC GROUPE MUSIQUE in collaboration with Geophysics GPR. Volunteer forum, Tuesday PM August 19th in the main Auditorium (A1600)
The conference will conclude with a forum on the Canadian Rock Mechanics Association and its CGS and CIM branches, the Rock Mechanics Division and Rock Engineering Society. The purpose of this forum is to discuss ongoing activities with the three associations, present initiatives in the pipeline, and then open the floor for discussions around what the associations could do next.
