The RockEng 2025 symposium target modern and upcoming challenges with rock mechanics and rock engineering. The conference aims to bring together the community to showcase recent developments and discuss important perspectives on the following technical avenues:

Call for Abstracts
The RockEng 2025 Organizing Committee invites members of the Rock Mechanics community to contribute their current research, developments, and advancements in academia and industry. The abstract submission is scheduled to commence on September 03, 2024. Authors are encouraged to submit abstracts in English or French on topics within one of the aforementioned technical themes.

Authors need to login/signup in the symposium submission portal. Once logged in, you will be prompted to submit a new abstract. Abstract submission system consists of two sections: 1. Abstract entry and 2. Author details. In the abstract entry section, the authors are encouraged to enter the suitable title for your article. The submission system allows you directly enter your abstract (maximum 300 words) in the portal. The authors will then choose the themes under which their article falls under and enter 5 keywords separated by a “semi-colon (;)” symbol between each keyword. Once the abstract is submitted, they will be prompted to add the author details.
Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the experts in the respective technical themes. Authors of the accepted abstracts will be invited to structure their work in the form of technical papers of maximum 8 pages. Please note that the final abstract submission deadline is Novembre 15, 2024. The authors are notified about the acceptance of their abstracts by December 15, 2024.
Paper Submission Details
Authors of accepted abstracts must submit their technical papers by March 15, 2025, using the online submission feature. To help authors ensure their paper meets the conference’s presentation requirements, a Paper Template/Guideline has been prepared. All authors must use this template and follow the guidelines to help ensure presentation uniformity in the conference proceedings – submissions that do not follow the prescribed formatting guidelines will be returned. Please take note of the abstract word count and page limits. The Author's Release, Declaration, and Understanding has been incorporated into the online submission process – all corresponding authors must select “Yes” in the Copyright Permission field.

The RockEng 2025 Technical Committee and the experts in each technical theme will review all articles for clarity, technical merit, and relevance to the conference. The Technical Committee will also review all technical papers for making final decisions on participation in the oral or poster presentation program. Our goal is to inform corresponding authors of their paper acceptance by May 15, 2025 along with the comments of the review committee. The authors should incorporate the necessary corrections and submit the final version by June 30, 2025. Final decisions regarding the presentation format and assigned session for approved articles will rest with the Technical Committee. RockEng 2025 will include a poster session with dedicated time in the conference program.
